In the Distance

In the distance,

I see life as it is,

Quiet and serene.

In the distance,

I can hear the birds singing,

And the crickets chirping,

As they begin their day.

In the distance,

I feel the wind blowing,

Sheltering me from

The blistering heat.

In the distance,

I can faintly see,

A place where I

Can finally rest.
