Peter's Dad will never forget
"Thank you for remembering us on this difficult day. You are right it never gets easier just a little more tolerable. I cannot believe that today is his 3rd anniversary. It makes me relive every hour of that day when the Whistler Olympics were ending. Jill and I were at the closing ceremony. My phone was ringing but I couldn’t hear it in the noise. I remember the exact spot that I was at on the highway when Carolyn finally reached me.
The 8AM Mass today is dedicated to Peter. As you know we offer the Peter Feldsine Memorials Scholarship at St. Monica grade school each year in his memory. Those little things help to keep him with us. I know that you also know the pain of such an untimely loss. I think it is just something you learn to cope with and look forward to seeing your departed loved one down the road."
Whistler 2013
Nor Does Chris
Today is the third anniversary of my brother's death. This is certainly a somber time for me, but I'd like to believe that I have become a stronger and more mature man since his passing, and I continually strive to be a source of pride to him, wherever he may presently be. He believed in me, and I've resolved never to disappoint him. So I recall his death with a certain measure of sorrow, but also joy in the knowledge that he remains ever with me as a memory, an influence, and, I believe, a spirit monitoring me with the utmost love and vigilance. I continue to love and miss him dearly, but find solace in the awareness of his eternal presence within me. I pray that those of you who were acquainted with Peter reminisce with similar fondness today, and I ask that you recall him and my family in your thoughts and prayers.
Perpetual Scholarship
The 2013 Peter J. Feldsine Memorial scholarship was awarded to a young man who attends St. Monica school. He wrote:
"There are many things I want to do once I graduate from college. One of them is to change somebody's life for the better as my family did and as my faith teaches me to do. Being Catholic is more than going to Mass and believing in God. I have learned that you have to be an example of God's love by making positive changes and being the person that God wants us to be."
